Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001, ditulis oleh Steve Coll, diterbitkan tahun 2004 oleh Penguin Press,[1] memenangkan Hadiah Pulitzer untuk Non-Fiksi Umum tahun 2005.[2]

Buku ini berisi kesaksian mendalam tentang aktivitas Central Intelligence Agency di Afghanistan sejak invasi Soviet sampai pasca-serangan ke World Trade Center dan Pentagon. Coll juga membahas aktivitas antara CIA dan rekannya di Pakistan, Inter-Services Intelligence, yang memanfaatkan dana dari CIA dan Saudi Arabia untuk membangun kamp pelatihan militan Mujahidin di sepanjang perbatasan Pakistan-Afghanistan dengan tujuan menciptakan para pejuang militan radikal dari berbagai negara Arab untuk menyerang pendudukan Soviet.
