Florence Hedges (24 Agustus 1878 – 17 Desember 1956)[1] adalah seorang ahli patologi tumbuhan dan botani asal Amerika yang berperan dalam kegiatan di Biro Industri Tumbuhan Departemen Pertanian Amerika Serikat (USDA).[2]

Kehidupan dan karier

Hedges lahir di Lansing, Michigan, dan menyelesaikan pendidikan di Universitas Michigan pada tahun 1901. Sebagian besar karya Hedges berfokus pada penyelidikan mengenai penyakit tumbuhan yang disebabkan oleh bakteri. Selama kariernya, Hedges bekerja sama dengan berbagai ilmuwan, termasuk Charlotte Elliot, Hellie A. Brown, Edith Cash, Mary Katharine Bryan, Anna Jenkins, Lucia McCulloch, Pearle Smith, dan Angie Beckwith, saat menjadi peneliti di USDA.[3]

Hedges juga turut serta dalam penerjemahan biografi Louis Pasteur yang diterbitkan pada tahun 1896, yang ditulis oleh Émile Duclaux, bersama dengan Erwin Frink Smith.[4]

Hedges meninggal dunia di San Francisco, California.[5]
