Exoprosopa adalah genus kosmopolitan besar dari lalat yang termasuk dalam familia Bombyliidae (lalat-lebah), dengan lebih dari 325 spesies yang dideskripsikan.[2]
Deskripsi
Mereka kebanyakan lalat besar, sekitar 14 mm, kadang lebih besar, hingga 22 mm, meskipun beberapa spesies sekecil 6 mm. Genus ini berisi lalat lebah terbesar. Kepalanya besar dan hanya terikat secara renggang dengan toraks. Antenanya kecil dan terpisah dengan baik dan mereka memiliki sayap besar, hingga 64 mm pada spesies terbesar. Banyak spesies dimorfis secara seksual.[2]
Distribusi
Spesies ditemukan di seluruh dunia, namun Afrika bagian selatan terutama kaya akan spesies dengan 135 spesies.[2]
