Eleuteropolis (Yunani, Ελευθερόπολις, "Kota Bebas") adalah sebuah kota Romawi di Israel, yang berjarak sekitar 53 km dari barat daya Yerusalem. Kota tersebut merupakan salah satu tempat yang dilewati pada jalan kuno menuju Gaza.
Kota tersebut awalnya dikenal dalam bahasa Aram dengan sebutan 'Beth Gabra yang artinya "rumah orang kuat".[1] Nama Eleuteropolis diberikan kepada koa tersebut oleh bangsa Romawi.[2][3] Yosefus menyebutnya Betaris,[4][5] Ptolemy menyebutnya sebagai Baitogabra,[6] dan dalam Talmud, kota tersebut dikenal sebagai Beit Guvrin.[1][7] Bekas kota Eleuteropolis dibangun kembali oleh tentara Salib dengan nama Bethgibelin atau Gibelin.[8][9] Kota abad pertengahan tersebut dikenal dalam bahasa Arab dengan sebutan Beit Jibrin atau Jubrin (بيت جبرين) yang artinya "rumah orang berpengaruh",[10] yang merefleksikan nama Aram aslinya.[1]
