Ekotipe

Pada ekologi evolusi, sebuah ekotipe,[note 1] terkadang disebut sebagai ekospesies, mendeskripsikan sebuah varietas, populasi atau ras geografik pada suatu spesies yang berbeda secara genetis, dan secara genotip teradaptasi ke sebuah kondisi lingkungan spesifik.

Biasanya, meski ekotipe memiliki perbedaan fenotip (seperti pada morfologi atau fisiologi) yang berasal dari heterogenitas lingkungan, mereka dapat kawin silang dengan ekotipe yang bersebelahan secara geografis tanpa kehilangan kesuburan atau hasrat.[1][2][3][4][5]
