CryoSat
CryoSat adalah sebuah program ESA yang akan memantau variasi dalam luas dan ketebalan es di kutub melalui penggunaan satelit di orbit Bumi rendah. Informasi yang diberikan tentang perilaku gletser pesisir yang menguras lapisan es menipis akan menjadi kunci untuk prediksi yang lebih baik dari kenaikan permukaan laut pada masa depan. Pesawat ruang angkasa CryoSat-1 hilang dalam kegagalan peluncuran pada tahun 2005, tetapi program ini dilanjutkan dengan peluncuran sukses pengganti, CryoSat-2, diluncurkan pada tanggal 8 April 2010.
CryoSat dioperasikan dari European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) di Darmstadt, Jerman.
