Comic Sans MS adalah jenis huruf tulisan tangan santai tanpa serif yang dirancang oleh Vincent Connare. Comic Sans dikeluarkan pada tahun 1994 oleh Microsoft Corporation. Huruf ini dapat digolongkan ke dalam jenis tulisan tangan santai yang huruf-hurufnya tidak bersambung. Comic Sans, sesuai namanya, terilhami oleh tulisan yang lazim digunakan dalam buku komik. Oleh sebab itu, huruf ini dimaksudkan untuk digunakan dalam dokumen informal dan materi anak-anak.[1]
Jenis huruf ini tersedia dalam Microsoft Windows sejak diperkenalkannya Windows 95. Pada awalnya huruf ini disediakan hanya sebagai fon tambahan di Windows Plus Pack dan kemudian di Microsoft Comic Chat. Dalam kaitannya dengan itu, Microsoft menjelaskan tentang Comic Sans bahwa "rupa hurufnya yang santai tetapi terbaca ini terbukti sangat terkenal di banyak kalangan."[2]
