CD154

CD154, juga disebut ligan CD40 atau CD40L, adalah protein yang utamanya diekspresikan pada sel T yang teraktivasi.[1] Protein ini merupakan bagian dari superfamili molekul TNF. Protein ini mengikat pada CD40 di sel penyaji antigen. Secara keseluruhan, CD40L memiliki tiga pasangan: CD40, α5β1 integrin, dan αIIbβ3. Pada sel T pembantu, CD154 membantu kematangan dan fungsi sel B.[2] Kerusakan pada CD154 dapat mengakibatkan sindrom hiper IgM.[3] Ketiadaan CD154 juga menghentikan pembentukan pusat germinal, sehingga menghambat kematangan afinitas antibodi, yang merupakan suatu proses penting pada sistem imun adaptif.
