CALIPSO

Calipso adalah satelit lingkungan bersama NASA (USA) dan CNES (Prancis), dibangun di Cannes Mandelieu Space Center, yang diluncurkan di atas sebuah roket Delta II pada tanggal 28 April 2006 Namanya adalah singkatan dari Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations.

Instrumen penginderaan jauh pasif dan aktif di papan satelit Calipso memantau aerosol dan awan 24 jam sehari. Calipso adalah bagian dari "A Train", terbang dalam formasi dengan beberapa satelit lain (Aqua, Aura dan CloudSat).
