Bromance

Pada 2017, hubungan Presiden Barack Obama dengan Wakil Presidennya Joe Biden dideskripsikan sebagai "bromance".[1]

Bromance adalah sebuah hubungan dekat non-seksual antar dua pria atau lebih.[2] Sejak permulaan abad ke-21, keberadaan konsep tersebut dipandang sebagai wujud perubahan dalam sudut pandang dan peminatan masyarakat dalam tema tersebut,[2][3][4] dengan peningkatan keterbukaan masyarakat barat pada abad kedua puluh satu.[5]

Bromance adalah lakuran dari dua kata dalam bahasa Inggris: bro atau brother (saudara laki-laki) dan romance (romansa). Penulis dan pemain papan seluncur Amerika Serikat Dave Carnie dianggap sebagai pencetus istilah ini saat menjadi editor majalah papan seluncur Big Brother pada tahun 1990-an untuk merujuk secara khusus pada jenis hubungan yang berkembang di antara para pemain papan seluncur yang menghabiskan banyak waktu bersama.[2][6] Istilah ini baru dikenal luas sekitar tahun 2005[2] saat fenomena ini menjadi lebih menonjol dalam industri perfilman.[2][7]
