Bomoh
Bomoh adalah istilah dukun dalam bahasa Melayu. Bomoh merujuk kepada ahli penyembuhan tradisional dalam masyarakat Melayu dahulu kala. Bomoh mengobati berdasarkan kepada penggunaan tumbuh-tumbuhan dan hewan.
Kata Bomo(h) telah muncul pada tahun ±1600-1625 dalam Hikayat Aceh, yang ditulis dalam abjad Jawi.[1]
- Hikayat Aceh 127:7 "... gajah tuanku ini. Diperhamba suruh ubati kepada [bo]mo gajah tuanku. Berilah makanannya."
