Basin Amazon
Basin Amazon adalah bagian dari Amerika Selatan yang dialiri oleh Sungai Amazon dan cabang-cabang sungainya. Wilayah yang dilalui sungai Amazon meliputi wilayah seluas sekitar [convert: nomor tidak sah], atau sekitar 40 persen dari benua Amerika Selatan. Basin tersebut terletak di negara Bolivia, Brasil, Kolombia, Ekuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname dan Venezuela.[1]
Kebanyakan basin diselimuti oleh hutan hujan Amazon, yang juga dikenal sebagai Amazonia. Dengan wilayah seluas 5.500.000 km2 (2.100.000 sq mi), hutan tropis tersebut menjadi hutan hujan terbesar di dunia.
