Automaton
Automaton atau otomat adalah sebuah mesin yang dapat bergerak sendiri. Kata ini sering digunakan untuk menggambarkan sebuah robot.
Etimologi
Automaton berasal dari Bahasa Yunani αὐτόματος (automatos), artinya "berlaku atas kehendak sendiri; bergerak sendiri," lebih sering digunakan untuk menggambarkan mesin-mesin bergerak non-elektronik, khususnya yang dirancang untuk menyerupai gerakan manusia atau hewan.
