Atropates

Atropates (Bahasa Yunani Aτρoπάτης, dari Persia Kuno Aturpat "dilindungi oleh api";[1] 370 SM-setelah 321 SM) adalah bangsawan Persia[2][3][4][5][6] yang melayani Darius III, nantinya Alexander yang agung, dan membentuk kerajaan baru dan dinasti yang dinamai dengan namanya. Diodorus (18.4) merujukannya sebagai 'Atrapes', sementara Quintus Curtius (8.3.17) keliru menyebutnya 'Arsaces'.
