Asetogenesis

Asetogenesis adalah proses saat asetat diproduksi melalui reaksi reduksi karbon dioksida atau reduksi asam organik yang dilakukan oleh bakteri asam asetat.[1]Kelompok spesies bakteri yang melakukan proses ini dikenal dengan nama asetogen.[2] Proses reduksi karbon dioksida dan hidrogen menjadi asetat dilakukan melalui lintasan Wood-Ljungdahl yang membutuhkan sumber elektron atau konversi asam lemak volatil melalui proses beta oksidasi.[3]
