Amitav Acharya (lahir 1962) adalah akademisi Kanada kelahiran India[1] dan dosen hubungan internasional di American University, Washington, D.C. Ia menjabat sebagai Ketua Tantangan dan Pemerintahan Transnasional UNESCO di School of International Service dan ketua ASEAN Studies Center.[2][3][4]

Bidang penelitian Acharya meliputi:

  • Percampuran ide dan norma dalam politik dunia
  • Lembaga regional komparatif
  • Hubungan internasional, regionalisme, dan keamanan di Asia Tenggara dan Asia Pasifik
  • Teori hubungan internasional, khususnya konstruktivisme dan teori HI non-Barat

Acharya dikenal sebagai pengusung kerangka kerja "lokalisasi" dan "subsidiaritas" untuk mempelajari percampuran ide dan norma dalam politik dunia, dan dikenal atas tulisannya mengenai "teori hubungan internasional non-Barat".
